Melanie, with opener Steve Forbert at the Kent Stage
Reserved tickets are $20
Melanie. Just one name, but if you remember Woodstock, you'll remember Melanie. And if you don't, how about some of the venues she's played since then--Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Opera House, the Sydney Opera House, and the United Nations General Assembly?
Melanie's guitar and vibrant voice have sold 80 million records, all while she's raised a family, won an Emmy, opened a restaurant and written a musical about Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. Now she's opening the Kent State Folk Festival with Steve Forbert, who went Top Ten with "Romeo's Tune" nearly 30 years ago. He remains a master of plainspoken eloquence, Nashville-style. Steve is witty, socially conscious and imbued with romantic optimism—just like the Kent State Folk Festival. Welcome to opening night!
