Bluegrass Night: Mountain Heart, with Tim O'Brien at the Kent Stage
General Admission tickets are $18
They've appeared at the Grand Ole Opry more than 100 times. They've won Grammys, ACM, CMA and IBMA Awards. They've shared the stage with Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Yonder Mountain String Band. Now acoustic ensemble Mountain Heart comes to the 2007 Kent State Folk Festival for a special Sunday evening performance. They tell us it's going to be "incomparably exciting," and we believe them.
Joining Mountain Heart on the Festival stage is beloved folk artist Tim O'Brien, a child of West Virginia and a self-described song sponge. In addition to his own prolific and successful songwriting, O'Brien's repertoire comes from the American South, Ireland, and anywhere else in the folk music tradition that he finds songs telling the truth about the human condition.
